Inking the plate
Board #1 is inked with the light blue. The board is inked each time a new print is pulled.
Five colors printed
Generally prints are printed starting with the lightest colors first and the darkest colors last depending on the imagery.
In board #2 the positive areas are carved away and the negative areas are left to be inked.
Print with six colors
Here the background dark grey (lava field) has been printed. If transparent colors are used and overlapped it will create another color.
Board #3 has details in the negative (background) areas.
Nene print details from board #3
Board #1 details
The darkest colors and the fine details are generally the last areas to be carved and printed.
